Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities

A large majority of our students will have special educational needs and will have received specialist educational support before they apply for the Further Education Through Horsemastership (FETH) Course. Our qualified staff team assess each student prior to entry and again in the first half term of the FETH Course. Seeking additional support would be relevant if it became clear that the student would benefit from other services not catered for by the Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy (FCRT); such as mental health services. Interventions are specific to individuals and their needs and can be arranged at any point during a student’s course. Depending on the need these can be delivered in small group sessions or on an individual basis.
