Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer
- Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
- We have a Senco lead and Deputy Senco who work closely with our families.¦¦Each of our children has a unique set of needs. Where the range of provision deemed appropriate for the majority of children of the same age within our setting does not meet the needs of an individual, then that child will be assessed as having special educational needs.¦¦This definition includes very able and gifted children and children who have general or specific learning difficulties and disabilities. It also includes children with emotional and behavioural problems.¦¦We aim to meet the special needs of all children, including those with disabilities, and appropriate support is given to enable them to participate fully in all activities wherever possible. The Preschool expects all children to be treated equally and aims to ensure that disabled children are not treated less favourably than other children.¦¦Identification and Assessment¦The Preschool uses the procedures outlined in the Department for Education 2014 Code of Practice in order to cater for children with special needs.¦¦Parent Partnership¦Parents are informed and consulted about their child’s progress at Preschool. A good partnership between home and Preschool is highly encouraged, so the child will benefit.¦¦Policy¦Copies of the inclusion policies are kept at preschool and can be accessed by parents/guardians at anytime.¦¦¦¦
