Ms Wendy Hazell-Spring
I have been a registered childminder since 1995. In that time I have brought up four children of my own, two of them being twins. I have done various courses over the years including NVQ Level 3 in Early years Care and Education. I moved to Ferndown with my family from Surrey where I achieved Childcare Quality Assurance award when I was in Surrey. My husband, who is a train driver is registered as my assistant, he is first aid trained as well.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer
- Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
The Access to my setting is through the front door it has a step and also a few steps at the rear of the property to enter the garden. Unfortunately, I have no wheelchair access. I have downstairs toilet facilities. The needs of the children I care for are identified through discussions with their parents/guardians. At the beginning and end of each day there is usually time for you to talk with me and discuss some next steps for your child, however if we don't have time or you would rather talk without little ears, i am happy to chat via the telephone any afternoon Monday to Friday. My service has a range of resources which your child can access. Inappropriate attitudes and practices will be challenged in my setting, I will encourage children to value and respect each other. I promote the value of diversity and difference. I will always highlight what children can do rather than cannot. I teach kindness appreciation and wellness by modelling this behaviour myself. I allow them to explore and investigate, in a rich environment with my support, ensuring safety and extension of experiences as well as making it fun, offering a holistic secure ground for developing potential. I ask new children and families to attend my settling in sessions before they start.(also i ask parents to fill in a "all about me Form" This gives an opportunity to get to know about your child and for parents to meet me and my family. I provide Government funded early years education places for eligible 2, 3- and 4-year olds. Additional funding can be claimed for children with special educational needs (SEN). I will observe and make an informed decision on whether your child will benefit from extra support with the additional information from the 2-year check, when necessary. I am happy to help and offer non-judgemental support to parents if needed. For further information, please do contact me via telephone or email.
