Dorset Reading Partners is a charity that recruits, trains volunteer reading partners to support children with their reading development. Each reading partner works with three or four children over a school year in weekly half-hour sessions outside the classroom, during which they talk, share books and play games together. We equip our reading partners with a box full of resources, which enables them to tailor their sessions to suit the child’s individual needs as they progress through the year. Our aims: * To improve reading performance, * Build up confidence, * Foster a lifelong love of books.
