Jungle Hut Pre School
We are a voluntary group who provide full day care for children aged 2 to 5 years. We operate from our own new building designed and built for the high standard of childcare we offer. The Jungle hut pre-school is situated in the grounds of the village primary school. We are registered to have up to 20 children a session. We offer flexible childcare to suit all parents'/carers' needs. We are a small friendly group and take great pride in welcoming each family to our setting. Our staff are fully qualified for their roles within the group and are regularly attend courses to extend their knowledge and skills. Parents have commented that the Jungle Hut is a fun, safe and caring environment for their child to attend’.

- 3 and 4 years olds are £4.75 an hour inclusive and 40p per hour for additional services such as snacks and extra activities such as trips and celebrations this charge is for nursery funded children only.

We offer home visits and settling in sessions prior to children starting. We have a very good relationship with the school and have assess to their facilities, we do PE once a week, ICT and forest school. By having such a good relationship with them, the transition to school goes very smoothly. Home visits and taster visits available for all new parents and children. - The building is purpose built, on one level which provides wheelchair access to all areas. We also have access to the schools facilities, including the school field and forest school. This is accessed by a purpose built ramp.

- The Jungle Hut is based in a purpose built building next to St Gregory's school and boosts from having an acoustic ceiling and floor. The children are provided with a stimulating and challenging environment, both inside and out. This is also provided through forest schools lead by our qualified forest school leader.

The Jungle Hut’s deputy manager is the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) along with two deputy SENCO’s, staff have attended training in; introduction to PEIC-D (Promoting Early Interactive Conversation). All staff regularly attend training to maintain their knowledge. We have access to a range of specialist services to support children with SEND these include Portage, Health Visitors, Speech & Language Therapist, occupational therapist, Educational Psychologists and our Early Years Advisor. Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s development and educational plans, we have an open-door policy here at the Jungle Hut, and we welcome all parental support and guidance throughout their child’s time with us. We ensure that our inclusive admissions practice ensures equality of access and opportunity. Our building and all outside areas are on one level with wide entrances to all areas, our toilet facilities are designed for easy access for adults and children with disabilities. When your child joins us here at the Jungle hut you will have a key worker who will arrange a home visit to meet you and your child. At the meeting we will discuss with you your child's needs and interests. By doing this we can get an indication of support that can be offered and to set up activities and toys of interest to your child. At the home visit we can arrange a taster visit prior to your child starting, so they can familiarise themselves with the setting, staff and other children attending.
