Dorchester Woodcraft Folk
Woodcraft Folk is the UK's co operative children and young people's organisation. Young people meet to make friends, build self confidence, and learn about big ideas from social justice to climate change. We go camping, get crafty, debate and play games as well as much much more! We are a democratic bunch so everything is discussed and shaped by all members from the youngest Woodchips to the oldest adults. Our aim is to have great fun, but also to try to develop children’s self-confidence and build their awareness of society around them. There are groups for all ages from 2 to 20 year olds. Activities are age appropriate and based on the guiding woodcraft principles of: co operation; children’s rights; nature and the environment; international friendship; equality; peace; education for social change. Through our activities, outings and camps we help our members to encourage children to think, hoping that they will help build a peaceful, fairer world.
