The Elves and Fairies Woodland Nursery
Small, friendly, primarily outdoor nursery in the beautiful setting of Edmondsham woods, between Verwood and Cranborne. Our experienced staff help children reach their EYFS goals through Forest School and creative imaginative play in a safe, secure outdoor environment. The kindergarten caters for children from 2 to 6 years of age and the Toddler Group for children from 1 to 2, although both older and younger siblings are welcome too. This group runs on a Friday from 10 to 12. Although we are a term time only nursery, "Adventure in the Woods" holiday sessions are available during some weeks of the holidays, for children from 3 to 8 and 8 - 11 years of age.

Accessibility
- Wheelchair accessible
- We do not exclude those with mobility difficulties but as most of our time is spent in the woods, it could present problems for both parent/carers and children in this category. A grassy track makes access to the woods is possible with a 3 wheeler pushchair or off road adult motor buggy.
- Parking availability information
- There is a car park on the edge of the big field that we cross to reach the Forest School. Most of the year it is possible to cross the field by car to reach the Forest School but this right is reserved for parent/carers or children with mobility difficulties.
- Toilet facility information
- Unfortunately our toilets are not wheelchair accessible but it would be possible to lift a young child into the toilet. We have a small changing cabin for nappy changes and other intimate care.
- Other Facilities
- As we are an outdoor nursery, all activities take place outside. For those who have sensitivity issues related to noise and vision, our outdoor setting is peaceful and uncluttered, surrounded by the sound and sights of nature. Several members of staff have experience working with children with additional needs e.g. Speech and Language delays, children on the Autistic Spectrum, children living with Down''s Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer
- Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
- Several staff have general and specific Special Needs training. We have supported children with varying levels of Speech and Language delays, with Global delays and children on the Autistic Spectrum. We are an inclusive setting and work with the child from their current starting point. We communicate frequently with parents and carers and work closely with other agencies such as Health Visitors, Speech and Language Therapists and Portage to ensure a complete support package is provided. Please contact the nursery for more information about how we can support your child.
