Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities

We have a SENCo (special educational needs co-ordinator) and Deputy that both have the relevant qualifications. We will always adapt our environment to suit any individual needs. Here at DCNS (Dorchester community nursery school) we have developed over the years, a good working relationship with other professionals such as Health Visitors, Speech and Language, Portage, Family Partnership Zone, Early Years Advisors and any other professional that may be required. We follow the necessary procedures for early intervention to ensure that the referral is dealt with quickly and efficiently allowing the child to reach their full potential. We like to develop a strong relationship with all of our families and will provide as much support, knowledge and guidance for them as we can whilst they are with us.
