Dumpton School

Dumpton School, Wimborne is a co-educational day school for boys and girls aged 2 to 13. Just one mile from Wimborne, surrounded by picturesque and tranquil countryside, the 26 acre campus is centred on a 19th century farmhouse and stable block, while extensive playing fields and woodland walks complement the first rate classroom areas and sports facilities. Dumpton is a happy school with purposeful pupils and committed, approachable staff. This is a powerful combination which lies at the heart of the ‘special atmosphere’ often referred to by first-time visitors. The beautiful location and excellent facilities play their part, but it is the quality of relationships throughout the school that creates such an enriching and fulfilling environment for children, staff and parents alike. Described by the Good Schools Guide as 'the perfect size; small enough to have a real family atmosphere and big enough to have proper teams, plays and music. We can't fault it!’

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
Learning Support Children are assessed continuously by their teachers, so those whose progress is giving cause for concern will be quickly recognised. The Head of Learning Support will then gather evidence from all parties. If it is thought that a child has issues with their academic work, they may be experiencing specific learning difficulties. Parents will meet with the Head of Learning Support to discuss progress and any special provision required. A full copy of the school’s Special Educational Needs & Learning Difficulties Policy is available on request.
It is recommended that you always check with providers that their service meets your requirements and that any listed activities are still running before you attend. The Dorset Family Information Service does not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of the information or the suitability of any of the services described.
