- Additional Information
Headteacher - Mr Philip Smith. Broadwindsor School was established in 1835 and moved from the original school building to the current site in 1968. It is a single storey building occupying a prominent place in the village of Broadwindsor, one of the most beautiful parts of Dorset. The school has four classrooms, a school hall, library, kitchen facilities, music room and dedicated First Aid room. It is resourced in all areas of the curriculum. The school grounds enable all our children to play on grass or on a hard play area depending on the weather. There are two environmental areas including a natural stream and an outside seating area under the trees. All classes use the outside areas in different ways to support curriculum work. The children have a variety of playtime options - large play equipment, ball games, playground games e.g. large draughts, skipping etc. Sports Leaders assist children at playtime with games. Broadwindsor School is a happy village school with high expectations of its pupils and staff. We believe that all children have the right to a full and broad curriculum, and that their social, emotional and moral needs are taken carefully into account. We are aware of the whole child and its education in the fullest sense of the word.
