Intellectual Disability - Child And Adolescent Mental Health Services Team

We are a multi-disciplinary team that works with children and young people diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities and their families across Dorset. The team consists of: Senior Clinical Lead Nurse, Team Leader, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Support Workers. We provide a range of advice and support to children and young people and their families, as well as other professionals involved with them in a variety of ways, where the child or young person is experiencing mental health and/or behavioural difficulties. We support families in clinic, at schools and in their own homes.  We work closely with the Adult Learning Disability Teams (CLDTs) and where a young person will require ongoing support into adulthood we will support this transition. We are a part of CAMHS specifically for children and young people with an Intellectual Disability.
