Caring For Children With Complex Needs - Nhs Choices

If your child has been diagnosed with an illness, disability or sensory impairment that needs a lot of additional support for them to live day to day, they might be described as having “complex needs”. A child might have complex needs from birth, or following an illness or injury. We can provide more information on what support you can get after diagnosis, you child's medical needs, daily living with a disabled child and lifelong care for a disabled child.

Further information on our website includes guidance about GP carers registers, learning about your child's condition, personal health budgets, your child's education, Early Support programme, respite care, single parent carers of disabled children, employment and single parents, grandparents care and independence in adulthood. For the Carers Direct Advice Line call 0300 123 1053 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 4pm at weekends.
