Dorset Special Educational Needs, Information, Advice And Support Service (SENDIASS)

Dorset’s Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) offers free impartial, confidential, information, advice and support to children and young people aged from 0 to 25 with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) and their parents/carers. The service can help by offering advice, information and support on how to express your views for assessments or meetings, find other support, help with disagreements and listening to concerns and talking to you about your choices and options. Our service provides a telephone helpline, email advice line, face-to-face support, support through the education, health and care (EHC) plan process and much more.

We are a team of experienced professionals, with diverse backgrounds in education, health and social care. We have all undertaken SEND legal training and some of our team have personal experience of parenting children with SEND.

Referral information

Self-referral. Children and young people with SEND that are in education or training and/or their parents or carers, can contact the service
