We are housed in our own building with a bright, warm, homely and safe atmosphere. We provide opportunities for children to engage in activities, explore, experiment and make decisions for themselves. We provide a secure, stimulating and structured environment where each child''s development is nurtured by very well-qualified, widely experienced and cheerful staff.

- Focus Nursery School will offer a place for any child with SEND and is committed to the integration of children wherever we can, provided we can offer a positive experience of learning through play and cater for their individual needs. As set out in Chapter 1 of the SEND code 2014 we will follow the principles by: • Taking into account the views, wishes and feelings of the child and parents • Understanding the importance of the child and parents will participate as fully as possible in any decisions • Ensuring systems are in place support the child and their parents to facilitate the development helping them achieve the best possible outcomes. Nursery will endeavour to provide a ratio of 1:1 by appointing staff and seeking funding where enough supporting evidence is supplied in advance. Focus Nursery School has a designated SENDCo that is responsible for overseeing the progression and integration of all children with SEND. We have experience of children that have Autism, Speech and Language disorders, ADHD, ADD, Behavioural and medical conditions that require health care plans. Procedures Access, we will: • Make every reasonable attempt providing access for all children adapting our facilities where necessary treating each case individually. Assessment, we will: • Observe all the children attending identifying and recognizing any SEND • Analyse our ability to offer positive care, both the physical environment, as well as staff suitability • Our provision will match the child’s SEND and plan support around the four areas of need and support: 1. Communication and Language 2. Cognition and Learning 3. Social, Emotional and Mental Health 4. Sensory and/or Physical needs. Support and expertise, we will: • Liaise with all health and Local Authority professionals for advice and support identifying effective strategies, equipment, programs or other interventions required • Endeavour to appoint and develop staff with relevant experience and knowledge • Ensure children with medical conditions get the support required • Where a child has an EHCP the Local Authority must review as a minimum of once every 12 months.
