Essential Drugs & Alcohol Service (EDAS)

Our aim as a local provider caring for the local community is to help transform the lives of people affected by substance misuse problems; we do this by offering a wide range of services in the locality. EDAS provides support to adults and young people affected by alcohol, illicit substances and over the counter or prescribed medication misuse across Dorset. Our 47 years of experience enables us to provide services which are delivered with empathy, professionalism and credibility. On a daily basis we offer one to one support, group work, education and family support to our service users and work towards positive outcomes for the individual, their families and the wider community. EDAS works closely with partner agencies such as; Health, Education, Mental Health, GP’s, Housing and Employment to develop packages of care that meet the needs of our service users.
