- Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
- Jumping Beans preschool provides good quality care and education for 2,3 and 4 year old children with a range of individual needs. We have an access ramp at the entrance to the building and an accessible toilet. We run from a community hall and will endeavor to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate individual needs. We practice in a spacious hall and a preschool classroom. Our outdoor area is over two levels, the upper level is accessed by a set of tyre steps. We provide a wide range of natural resources such as sand, water, bark, a mud kitchen, tyres, planks etc. The team is made up of 5 members of staff ranging from NVQ level 2 and 3 who are passionate in pursuing children''s aspirations to reach their full potential. Each child has a key person. Their role is to develop trusting, sensitive relationships with parents and children to enable respectful sharing of information. If you have any concerns about your child''s development please ask for a time when you can discuss this in private with them. If your child''s key person has identified a possible individual need, they will discuss the matter with you in private and plan together to support your child''s learning and development. Our staff approach will be inclusive, positive and welcoming. We have a dedicated SENCO and Speech and Language Coordinator, both of which have completed relevant training courses and cascade knowledge to the other members of staff. The setting SENCO can offer advice and support to the key person and other practitioners. The SENCO will liaise with other professionals to seek advice and support in identifying individual needs if necessary. Ongoing observational assessments are used to establish a starting point within the first few weeks and continuing to inform next steps. We work in partnership with a core of other professionals such as, Speech and Language Therapists, Portage, Health Visitors, paediatricians, Educational Psychologist’s, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapist, Social Care, Childrens Centers, Early Years’ Consultants, Ofsted, and any other service your child may require. This can provide extra support for vulnerable children and those expressing more needs.
