Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer
- Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
I am a home based childminder with 31 years of experience. I have attended SENCo training (9/10/2017) and attended all SENCo updates in the past 8 months. I have recent experience with a child with autism, after school care and school holidays. Meeting and understanding the child’s needs has provided the child with a safe environment with which he feels happy and secure. My experience delivering EYFS I am able to observe an identify areas where a child may have an additional need, monitoring and tracking their progress and development helps me to plan around the child’s individual needs. Children reaching 2 years and 3 months undergo a Two Year Check - this is an assessment of the development of the child, where the child is on the EYFS and an opportunity to discuss with parents prior to them meeting with the health visitor. I have termly visits from my area health visitor who offers support and help for myself and the families of the children I care for. I work closely with parents, health visitors, other professionals and LA support. I offer an inclusive home environment, where I do adapt activities/outings to suit all ages and stages, being sensitive to a child’s needs. If any other information is required I am happy to be contacted.
