We are a single storey, purpose built nursery offering 'outstanding' childcare by qualified and experienced staff. We have playgrounds, a baby garden and the use of a school field. Cost variations
Costs for full sessions are as follows: Full day (8am to 6pm) £70. Morning (8am to 1pm) £45. Afternoon (1pm to 6pm) £41, 7.30am starts are available. Discounts: 10% sibling discount for matching sessions. Full time place is £63 per day. 3 weeks of holiday discount at 50% of normal fees for non funded children. A service charge is made for sessions attended by funded children, please contact office for more details.
Additional Information
The fifteen hours free entitlement funding is claimed for all three and four year olds. We offer funded sessions for two year olds if eligible. We offer 30 hour funded places for eligible families. Parents can use their early education funding entitlement at any time during opening hours. We are open all year round, but offer term time sessions to children aged 3 to school age. Setting has an inclusion / equal opportunities policy. Please note that a place in a school nursery does not guarantee admission to the school on site. Parents/carers must apply for a place at the school if you want your child to transfer to the school’s reception class. From April 2024, Orchard will be offering the extended funded places for 2 year olds, and in September 2024, will be offering the extended funding to babies of 9 months and over.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities

We have a fully inclusive setting and support children with additional needs. Our nursery manager is a very experienced SENco and has two supporting SEN advisers in the team. Staff have training in ASD, Behaviour management, Speech and Language support, PECs (Picture Exchange Communication), Peic'd (Promoting early interaction conversations in Dorset) amongst others. Please telephone the nursery for advice and to discuss your individual needs. We are fully committed to further staff training and to provide excellent support to every child who attends our setting. We meet regularly with the families of children with SEND and involve parents and carers in all aspects of decision making and plans for your child. As a nursery, we have positive and effective working relationships with Portage, Occupational Therapy, Poole CDC and any other professionals involved with the care of your child.
