Home Start North Dorset is an independent registered charity that supports struggling families living in the North Dorset area and where there is at least one child under five. We recruit and train volunteers who offer informal, confidential advice, support and friendship by way of flexible one-to-one practical and emotional help to families. The support given is tailored to the needs of the parents & children with issues such as behaviour management, healthy eating, accessing support services, managing a home and learning through play. Parents learn to cope with the stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, time and strength they need to nurture their children. Confidence improves and parents build better lives for their families and in turn give their children the best possible start in life. Home-Start's help is free and confidential.
