Wimborne Kindergarten

We have our own building on the old school campus. We provide a safe environment for the children to explore and involve themselves in chosen activities with a large outside area for free flow play. Play is child led and driven by their own interests. Staff are friendly and experienced and work closely with parents and children. We use Tapestry online record keeping programme and encourage parents to upload wow moments or share news from home.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
We are committed to providing children including those with SEND equal access to our learning environment and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We recognise children are individuals developing and learning in different ways All staff are committed to seeing children thrive and reach their full potential. Children have a key worker who works in partnership with family and where appropriate other agencies to support them e.g. Speech and Language Therapy or Portage. Staff observe and record a child''s progress using Tapestry online system. Parents are welcome to attend regular parents’ meetings or speak to us informally about any concerns. We operate an open-door policy, all parents can arrange to visit our setting with their child before starting kindergarten. We have experience caring for children aged between 2 ½ and 4 years who have had emerging or identified additional educational needs or disabilities for example Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Some children may be eligible for additional funding to meet their needs for example to fund 1 to 1 support or buy specialist equipment We have experience writing Individual Educational Plans and Educational Health Care Plans considering a child''s needs. Our setting has a number of policies and procedures in place to ensure inclusivity and equality for all. Ellie Pugh (SENCO) is both experienced and attends regular training. We are happy to discuss your family''s individual needs either in person or call us on 07778 597709.
