Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
Stoborough Nursery is a small, friendly nursery operating from a safe and stimulating open-plan mobile classroom in the grounds of Stoborough Primary School. It provides an environment and learning opportunities so that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or a disability, are supported to reach their full potential. ¦Children are nurtured by a very well-qualified, widely experienced team of staff who regularly attend training to up-date their knowledge and skills. A Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) oversees the care and educational of children with additional needs.¦Stoborough Nursery aims to accommodate children with a range of needs. When appropriate staff work with parents/carers and other professional before children start at Nursery to ensure children’s individual needs can be met from the beginning. Staff are skilled in identifying any concerns about children’s development, monitoring their progress, writing individual plans and using a range of supportive strategies to help and include individual children within the Nursery. If appropriate support from specialist services and other professionals is gained and additional funding accessed.
